Default Welcome to the New Age: Dervish Smite

Dervishes are sceaming to be used with smite for a very powerful combonation. This guy can dish out the dmg while also healing the party.

Still toying around the attributes.

Sythe Helm
Major Myst rune
Major Air

Myst 14
Sythe 12
Air Pr 10

Crippling Sweep
Heart of Holy Flame
Balthazar's Rage
Whirling Charge
Pious Restoration
Extend Enchantments
Avatar of Melandru
Mystic Healing/Imbue Health


You want to run a team with 2 of these guys. 2 smiters and a charge war/paragon. If mystic healing works out enough healing you might be able to remove the e/mo completely from the build. If you don't like mystic healing use Imbue health for a huge healing. At 14 myst its 47% your max hp. With Avatar of Melandru you will hit the 300 hp cap easy.

Avatar of Melandru will keep you clean of any condtions so blind bots become worthless for 1 minute. This also saves your party huge amounts of energy. Pious restoration will keep you clean of any hex while also breaking hex stacks.

You are going to cordinate with your Smiter a little with this build. When the smiter is going to cast Balthazar's Aura you will have AoE on you. During the casting of balth aura you need cast extend enchantments. You want to do this in the middle of balth aura casting because AoE's energy reduction is applyed at the time of casting. Extend enchantments will remove the AoE but during casting it won't matter the energy reduction has been applied to the casting cost. After that the smiter can go back to being normal. This should give balth aura a 16-18 sec duration. When you cast extend enchantments it will wipe all your current enchantments refilling your energy completely (7e per enchant). Now that you are full hit Whirling charge and crippling sweep. Both dervishs can spike Heart of Fire and Balth's Rage for huge holy dmg spikes at a nearby range. At 14 Myst Rage does 96 holy dmg. Ending Heart will set nearby foes on fire for 3 seconds pushing the pressure even more. If you really want to be nasty about this get 2 dervishs cordinating Rage and a Smite Hex from the smiter at the same time for a 200-400 holy dmg spike ignoring armor. Might want to think twice about casting those anti-melee hexes now.

At the end of the 20 second duration of extend enchantments you will be wiped clean once again of all enchantments. That will fill you energy bar completely and give about 150-180 hp back. 5 seconds later Balth aura is recharged and ready to go.

Smiting defeinitely is something to consider.

If you noticed in the update, they stated that they "temporarily" nerfed Balth's Aura to only last 8 seconds, instead of 10.

Why?

Well look at what that Dervish can do with enchantments other than ditch them. They can extend them. A lot.

I'm sure lots of things will come of this train of thought

What about Balth form. That is insane right there. Balth Form + Heart of Holy Flame + Balth Rage + Balth aura + some other stuff like that... These things can easily cut through warriors and softies alike.

The balth form is not needed. It allows you to move faster and gives more armor. You are still subject to condtions and hexs making everything anti-melee still affective. Moving faster for close to a minute is really good BUT it works against your smiter. He can't smite off you if he can't keep up. This build is made for gvg. With the balth form I think we might see a new flag runner. With the dervishs healing skills and a 60 seconds 33% speed boost that can make flag running a breeze.

You can attack and move 33% faster with whirling charge. Melandru's form keeps blind/weakness/cripple off of you for close to 1 minute. That +200hp with the smite protection will be more than enough to keep you alive.

I've been running this build with a team for a few matches. Its devistating. You can wipe 2-3 targets easily if they group together. With the Balth Rage + Heart spike and added pressure from smiters they drop like flies. Majority of this dmg is holy dmg so it can kill anything just the same. Its also humorous to watch the other team.

Some teams figured it out fast. Don't group up and stay WAY away from the dervishs. When they run in its like parting the red sea. I'd hate to be a monk trying to stay in range of all my party members playing against this build.

pointless thread but anywho this build will stay into the weekend since most of Anet people take off the weekends "duh" unless they call eachother and like ZOMG WE GOTA DO SOMETHING!!! but dont get your hopes up.. this will most likely be nerfed after the event cuz they will need to fix more than one skill basicly the whole Dervish class.

so if you never iwayed "like myself" and would like to see how it feels to abuse something to death and feel good about yourself "like every iway noob" run this build and pwn your other "iway noobs"

* going to the movies on the weekend - $10
* buying gas for your car - $20
* gettin a gift for your girlfriend - $50
* seeing the look on iway noobs' faces when they do 0dmg and die under a min with nothing to do but copy the build that just owned them and they still get owned by the same build - priceless

I just got owned by 4 of these guys in TA.

That 640 holy dmg hit every 8 seconds was really f*ed up.

I've been getting owned by them all day. 4 D/Mo's are almost impossible to beat in Arena, unless they don't know how to work the build. We might get 1 kill, maybe 2, but practically nothing can stop them. They CoP off all conditions and hexes, and outdamage monks with ease. I might not even PVP tomorrow, this crap is so stupid. They don't even attack, for freaking cryin gout loud. Just chase you and spam spells. You think touch rangers are bad? Give touch rangers AoE, unlimited energy, and make them twice as powerful, and you'll begin to understand what this feels like.

I don't think they have tested any of these skills yet. Anyone that gives us a 100 holy dmg AoE that heals us with a 5 second recharge shouldn't be on the R&D team. Any real testing of these skills in a team environment would have shown how this is too much dmg.

I don't think they realized people would strip it off for the damage. What do you think? 10 or 15 sec recharge would balance it? Or do you think they should be 20?

i agree they didnt test the skills but theres no need to cuz the game is hardly done.. nightfall wont come out until maybe dec/nov 06 even early 07.. just enjoy the abuse while it last, i just hope this would FINALY give Anet the heads up about..

Oh and Nghtfall's coming out October. 6 month diff between expansions, and factions was released in april (4 + 6 =10..10= october)...

observed a GvG game, one team was running 7!! D/Mo and they ran into the other team cast the usual spells
balthazars rage
heart of holy flame
and totally wiped out the other team it was a merciless massacre,
Anet are going to have to do something about it to stop evry GvG battle just being dervish smite vs dervish smite

E denial isn't very effective as they get mass energy and healing everytime an enchantment ends on them.
